An Important Update from Companion Animal Hospital
After 43 years of caring for pets and families in the Spring, Texas, community, we are saddened to share that Companion Animal Hospital will be closing its doors this Fall. It has been an incredible privilege to be part of this community, and we are deeply grateful to the clients who have trusted us with the care of their beloved pets.
After carefully evaluating the long-term sustainability of our practice, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors. Despite our team's dedication and the trust of our clients, building and maintaining the clinical team needed to continue caring for our patients has become increasingly challenging.
Our final day for veterinary appointments, medication refills, and food pickups will be Friday, October 30, 2026.
We know that transitioning your pet’s care can feel overwhelming, and our team is committed to making this process as smooth as possible. Our priority now is ensuring you have the information and support you need for what comes next.
Requesting Medical Records
For quick access to basic medical information, including vaccination history, many records are also available through the PetDesk app.
To request a copy of your pet’s medical records, please contact Companion Animal Hospital at CompanionAH@yourvetdoc.com or call (281) 288-4162.
Please allow 3 to 5 business days for digital copies to be sent by email and up to one week for physical copies to be mailed or made available for pickup.
Information regarding how to request medical records after our location has fully closed will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
Managing Prescriptions and Treatments
If your pet has an ongoing prescription, we encourage you to plan ahead for any medications or refills they may need during this transition. Please call (281) 288-4162 ahead of our final day on Friday, October 30, 2026, to discuss any needed refills and allow time for medications to be prepared and picked up.
We also encourage you to establish care with a new veterinary provider before our closure to help avoid interruptions in your pet’s ongoing prescriptions and treatments.

Medical records and continued veterinary care will be available at our sister hospital, Bear Branch Animal Hospital.

It has been an incredible privilege to care for the pets and families of the Spring community. Over the years, you have trusted us through new puppies and kittens, annual visits, illnesses, emergencies, difficult goodbyes, and so many moments in between. We are deeply grateful for that trust, and for the relationships we have built with our clients and their pets.
While saying goodbye to our hospital is difficult, our priority during this transition remains the same as it has always been: helping ensure that our patients continue to receive the care they need.
